Why we're here

Today, over 250,000 youth are at risk for sex trafficking

Sheltered Hills will create a secure, supportive and nurturing environment for young girls removed from human sex trafficking. We will provide a
place where they can heal, grow and reclaim their futures.

Online platforms are exponentially increasing child exploitation and trafficking

The accelerating presence of online activity is causing exploitation and trafficking to invade new territories. Predators are using social media and gaming to form attachments with unsuspecting minors, with over 350,000 tips reported weekly.

The South faces a particularly high number of trafficking cases

From 2013 to 2022, Southern US law enforcements were responsible for reporting over 50% of trafficking incidents in the United States.

What we do

Sheltered Hills will provide care for underage girls through safe housing, therapy, education, medical and legal support, and aftercare—each designed to help with healing and building hopeful and restored futures.

Safe housing

Our safe house will provide loving, secure, supervised, and restorative living arrangements in a residential format. This will include nutritious meals, clothing, hygiene products and all basic needs met in a loving way.

Trauma-informed therapy

Caring for souls in trauma requires a holistic plan including individual and group therapies. Sheltered Hills will implement licensed therapists trained in trauma, PTSD, and abuse recovery to help break the cycle of revictimization and set a trajectory for a future of restored living. We will also incorporate art therapy, equine therapy and mindfulness practices.

Aftercare and transitional support

Through mentorship and reintegration support, each girl will be carefully guided into beginning a new life. Sheltered Hills will partner with other organizations in order to secure housing, mentoring, and job placement for our residents.

Educational and life skills

Our educational opportunities will include on-site accredited education and partnering with local schools when appropriate. We will partner with other entities for GED prep and vocational training. Cultivation of life skills such as cooking, conflict resolution, work ethic, health, and financial literacy are high priorities for future success and will be incorporated in daily practices.

Medical and legal support

Each girl at Sheltered Hills will be provided with access to medical, dental, and mental health care. We will have staff whose main goal is to assist the girls as they navigate the justice system and custody issues.

Laying the groundwork for lives transformed

Our recent steps at Sheltered Hills include incorporating with the state of Tennessee, registering with the Division of Charitable Donations, and receiving our 501(c)(3) status. We're excited to be hosting our first golf fundraiser (April 13, 2026 @ The Grove - details coming soon). We have a board of directors comprised of a stunning combination of people who embody both strength and tenderness. We are connected with the state of Tennessee through DCS, FBI, TBI, HSI, and law enforcement. We are collaborating with other nonprofits in the anti-trafficking space as we develop framework and processes. We are grateful for the many open arms we are meeting along the way.

As a board, we are setting the foundation and making the necessary preparations in order to receive our first beautiful girl. While waiting to open our doors, we are doing everything we can to be of service to others who are making a difference in this space. Lavishing love, purpose, and healing on these most vulnerable souls is our heart's desire.
